Insurance Post
magazine suggests that there have been technological
advances in vehicle braking systems which could have a
profound effect on common injuries such as whiplash.
With more than 250,000
whiplash claims
every year, insurers have a vested interest in

vehicles. Volvo have developed windshield mounted
laser devices which are said to operate in such a way as
to identify hazards before the driver reacts, preparing
the vehicle for an emergency stop. Mercedes have also
been at the forefront of similar technology with their
new models having intelligent braking as part of the
standard fit.
