The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)
today warned employers to introduce policies and conditions
to their working environments to help reduce the number of
accidents on the road caused by drivers using mobile phones.
There are various statistics available about drivers
concentration levels being drastically affected whilst using
mobile phones behind the wheel. The law introduced a few
years ago that made this practice an offence, has not
resulted in a dramatic drop in the general usage of mobiles
whilst driving.
From the 27th February 2007, drivers will be fined more and
will receive 3 points on their licence if convicted. You may
have been involved in a
road accident and
wish to seek compensation.
RoSPA are
urging employers to deal with the issues as disciplinary
offences in order to deliver a clear message regarding the
seriousness of the drivers actions.
More information and news will follow on this subject in due
course.
