PPI Complaints against Barclays
Barclays has been long established as one of Britains biggest banking organisations. With Barclaycard being possibly the UKs premier credit card, the bank has a substantial portfolio.
They rode the storm that was the 2007-2009 recession rather well in comparison to other banks who either invested badly in the run up to the downturn (RBS and Lloyds) or were too exposed to bad risks (Northern Rock).
Barclays sold payment protection insurance (PPI) on a large scale. PPI is a policy of insurance which covers your credit payments on cards or loans in the event that you cannot work due to illness or redundancy.
Barclays have been very prominent in the payment protection insurance market and in 2009 fought against the proposed ban on point of sale credit agreement PPI.
Were you mis-sold a Barclays PPI policy?
If you have at any time had a Barclays credit card or taken out a personal loan with PPI in place, you may wish to review the method of sale to determine whether your policy was potentially mis-sold by one of their in-house financial advisors or tele-sales staff.
