More problems have been reported with the much criticised NHS computer system.

It has been alleged that hundreds of inaccurate patient records have been created every day because of a persistent glitch on the new NHS computer system. The problem has affected Trusts in Manchester and became apparent after the software was upgraded.

NHS Connecting for Health, which is overseeing the IT upgrade, said that the fault would not have any impact on patient care and that the seriousness of the issue was being overstated by many critics. The nationwide programme has been hit by problems and has been criticised by MPs, who warned it could cost £12.4bn. The benefits of the upgrade are enormous but so far the project has had nothing but negative press. Click for more on NHS negligence claims - contact us today for advice and assistance.

Despite the massive undertaking in trying to drag the systems into the modern age, Connecting for Health remain positive. A spokesman said that the issues would be sorted out very quickly.
