Making a claim
There are many thousands of accidents that occur in
the workplace each year. Whether you work in a factory,
on a building site or even in an office - no environment
is completely safe. It is not realistic to expect an
employer to spot every hazard or prevent every possible
accident from occurring.
The employer must, however:
Always carry out a risk assessment in the form of an
investigation conducted to identify whether any
particular act or operation gives rise to a safety risk
or hazard. If they fail to do so and an employee suffers
injury - the employer will be liable.
We have various information pages about the different
types of industrial injuries suffered in the workplace:
1) Industrial injury - involving machinery
2)
Involving cranes
3) Forklifts
4)
Involving equipment
5)
Unsafe premises
6)
Ladders/scaffolding
7)
Inadequate training
8) Building site safety
