Company that runs hospital bedside phone system criticised
15th December 2006
Patientline - a firm that provides phone services across many of the UKs hospitals intends to increase the cost of calls by 160%. In a move that is certain to cause controversy, calls made by NHS patients through Patientline phones will rise in cost from 10p per minute to 26p. The company has revealed that the huge cost of upgrading their IT system has led to the inevitable pricing increase because there is no other way to recoup lost profit. This is not the first time the company as courted controversy and been the subject of patient complaints.
They were investigated by Ofcom the regulator in 2005 but were cleared of any wrongdoing. If you wish to make an enquiry about medical negligence or a hospital complaint please speak to one of our lawyers today.
