Widow
finally receives damages following insurer "U" turn
[21st
January 2007]
A widow has
finally received compensation from a motor insurer for the death of
her husband in a well-documented cycle accident which occurred in
2003.
The cyclist was
one of a group of fellow enthusiasts who were involved in a serious
collision on the A48 near Bridgend.
Anyone involved
in a pedal cycle collision, for which they are not responsible,
should be entitled to claim
cycle accident
compensation.
The insurer
Frizzels at first admitted liability but then decided to rescind the
admission. Further arguments followed but a decision was then
taken to pay 100% of damages to the widow of the deceased. The
claim was fully supported by the
British Cycling Club who were pleased with the outcome of
the case.
