What is Conveyancing?

Conveyancing is the process of transferring the ownership of a house, flat or area of land from one person to another.

What is a Licensed Conveyancer and do they do?

A Licensed Conveyancer is a specialist property lawyer, who is trained and qualified in all aspects of the law that concerns property.

Most specialists are regulated by the Council for Licenced Conveyancers. This body also deal with complaints against their members.

They run a scheme which allows for compensation awards of up to £5000 to be obtained. However, this may not cover the loss sustained in the vast majority of cases.

Some conveyancing firms are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). The SRA has its own complaints procedures and will award compensation in certain cases.

Despite the excellent standards set by most legal advisers, inevitably some professionals do make mistakes and when this happens - the client can suffer.   This is where our specialised NO WIN NO FEE service can help.  We have a team of dedicated professional negligence solicitors who can advise you on your prospects of taking legal action against the party or parties who provided the poor advice.

We can deal with cases involving:

Failed transactions where loss has been sustained

Lack of diligence when dealing with a sale or purchase

Failure to apply the requisite skill or knowledge

Contractual issues and many other issues

* PLEASE NOTE * We cannot help with general complaints about poor service OR poor professional attitudes or procedures. We deal with financial loss claims and in order to pursue such a claim you must be able to demonstrate an actual loss has been or is likely to be sustained.
