Compensation Bill update

Read the latest news from the personal injury sector in the UK.

The Number of Claims Management firms to be slashed by the Compensation Bill [22nd September 2006] From November 2006 claims management firms will be invited to apply for authorisation under the forthcoming Bill.

The licensing arrangement becomes mandatory by April 2007 and many firms are expected to fail the criteria or simply not bother to seek regulation. Many are likely to go out of business.   The Government aim to "clean up" the compensation claims industry by introducing this wide ranging piece of legislation. The much anticipated Bill has caused much debate and there are concerns in some legal quarters that the Bill does not go far enough.   More news will follow on the Bill as and when developments occur.
